Symptoms of BPH

Uncomfortable. Disruptive. Sometimes embarrassing.

Every man's experience with BPH is different. Some men may not be bothered by their urinary symptoms and others may find that their symptoms interfere with many daily activities.

Typical signs of BPH include:3

  • Frequent urination
  • Urge to urinate right away, sometimes with leaking or dribbling
  • Waking at night to urinate
  • Delay in starting the urine stream
  • Feeling that the bladder is not completely empty, even after urinating
  • Urine stream that starts and stops
  • Weak urine stream

Be sure to speak with your doctor if you're having symptoms like these.

In 8 out of 10 cases, these symptoms are a sign of BPH.3  But they can also be due to other, more serious conditions that need prompt treatment. Another reason to speak with your doctor is that severe symptoms of BPH that are untreated for a long time can cause problems such as bladder or kidney damage, bladder stones, or incontinence (the inability to control urination).3  Only your doctor can make the correct diagnosis and offer you the right treatment.

RAPAFLO is indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

RAPAFLO is not indicated for the treatment of hypertension.

Important Safety Information

RAPAFLO is approved to treat male urinary symptoms due to BPH, also called an enlarged prostate. RAPAFLO should not be used to treat high blood pressure. Only your doctor can tell if you have BPH, not a more serious condition like prostate cancer. RAPAFLO should not be used in patients with severe liver or kidney disease as well as those taking certain antifungal or HIV drugs. Avoid driving or hazardous tasks until you know how RAPAFLO will affect you, as a sudden drop in blood pressure may occur, rarely resulting in fainting. If considering cataract surgery, tell your eye surgeon you're currently taking RAPAFLO or have taken it in the past. Side effects include orgasm with reduced or no semen, dizziness, diarrhea, lightheadedness upon standing or sitting up abruptly, headache, swelling of the throat and nasal passages, and stuffy nose.
